Bedaquiline (BDQ) is a cornerstone antibiotic for treating multidrug- or rifampicin-resistant tuberculosis (MDR/RR-TB). Resistance to BDQ (BDQR) can arise through three mechanisms: spontaneous mutation, acquisition during treatment, or transmission of a resistant strain.
