1.ObjectivesImplanted cervical vagus nerve stimulation (VNS) is used to treat refractory epilepsy, depression, stroke sequelae and rheumatoid arthritis. The therapeutic efficacy of VNS is limited by stimulation- induced side effects, including hoarseness, coughing, and voice alteration.
