This study induced a rumen flatulence model in Xizang sheep using alfalfa (HRF) and wheat grass (MRF) to explore related mechanisms. The pH of HRF and MRF groups was lower than the natural grass group. SCFA concentrations varied in different groups. Microbial analysis showed HRF and MRF groups had lower alpha and beta diversity and different compositions. Transcriptome analysis found different numbers of differentially expressed genes in each group. Spearmans correlation analysis indicated Butyrivibrio was related to GLRX and DUOX2, and Quinella to several genes.
