Bibliometric Analysis of Perioperative Organ Injury: Insights into the State of Basic Science Research

Perioperative organ injury represents a significant clinical challenge, leading to severe and often long-term complications for patients undergoing surgery. Despite its critical importance, the basic science underlying these injuries remains underexplored. This study employs bibliometric analysis to assess the research landscape of perioperative organ injury, focusing on key conditions such as myocardial infarction, ischemia-reperfusion injury, heart failure, acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS), perioperative lung injury, liver ischemia-reperfusion injury, ischemic acute kidney injury, and perioperative stroke. By analyzing publication trends, citation patterns, and research themes, this study aims to provide insights into the current state of basic science research in this field, highlighting gaps and opportunities for future investigations.
