HIV associated neurocognitive disorder (HAND) remains an important HIV-associated comorbidity despite antiretrovirals (ARVs). Cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) escape/discordance is now recognised in the context of individuals with a reconstituted immune system with an estimated prevalence of 10%.
